Doyle Blends
Doyle Blends is a faux Orange grove in Wabasso, FL. This family-run business was looking for a way to market their product to earn a spot on store shelves and in the hands of a modern day consumer.
Research
In order to begin my project, I looked up companies with successful branding in the beverage industry. Some brands that I encountered were Poppi, Ollipop, and Bubbly. All of these brands utilized bold colors and a modern, sans serif typeface. Next I looked up information about the location of Doyle Blends (Wabasso, FL) and local competitors such as Indian River Select. I developed a moodboard that showcases type, color, and illustration inspiration.
Color
After my research, something that became apparent to me was the use of bright, bold colors that made these brands stand out. I wanted my color palette to be spirited and eye catching on store shelves.
Illustrations
The client noted that the Doyle Family Grove was founded in 1924 by their great grandparents. To honor the long history of Doyle Blends while establishing the modern feel they were aiming for, I created illustrations in the inkblot cartoon style of the 1920s and 30s.
